Ria Dongworth - Principal

Ria began teaching dance at the age of 16 before working abroad in Cyprus and Turkey choreographing and performing in hotels, including her own cabaret show.


Since graduating from drama school in 2009 she has worked as Movement Director for the award winning London Fringe group Lazarus Theatre Company and at the Tricycle Theatre, London. Performing credits include Heaven Sent (New Wimbledon Theatre), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Rose & Crown Theatre) and The Ripper's Five (Theatro Technis).


After gaining 10 years experience working for numerous nationwide theatre schools teaching singing, dance and drama, Ria set up Diverse Performing Arts in 2011 at Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall on Monday evenings. Diverse now offer classes five days each week at numerous venues. Our students have appeared in popular TV shows and on the London stage, as well as achieving top marks in LAMDA exams.


Ria teaches our stage 1, 2 and 3 performing arts groups as well as dance classes, solo LAMDA and singing lessons.

Carrie Whitton

Carrie is resident drama teacher at Diverse and works at numerous theatre schools.


She has directed various professional productions in London including 'Bouncers' at the Leicester Square Theatre.


As an actor Carrie played Twinkle in the Number 1 UK Tour of 'Dinnerladies' by Victoria Wood, appeared alongside Sheridan Smith in the film ‘Powder Room’, Secret Cinema’s ‘Back to the Future’, 'The Musketeers' at the Liverpool Echo Arena, the Olivier nominated 'Alice's Adventures Underground' and most recently in 'Coronation Street'.


Carrie teaches our preschool, stage 1, 2 and 3 performing arts groups as well as LAMDA drama exam students.

Kerrie Calladine

Kerrie trained at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where she graduated with a BA(Hons) in Performance.


Her professional credits include playing the role of Kate in the Number 1 UK Tour of 'Girl's Night', 'The Ceremony' at the Royal Festival Hall, 'This is the Moment' at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln and the original cast recording of  'The Railway Children'.


Kerrie teaches singing and LAMDA musical theatre lessons.

Aimi Percival

Aimi graduated from Hertfordshire Theatre School in 2007 and has taught at theatre groups for more than 10 years which has led her to direct for several theatre companies. She is a professional actress/singer and fronts the covers band ‘No Rush’.


Performance credits include ‘Confessions’ at the Union Theatre, London and ‘The Vicar of Dibley’.


Aimi leads our Ladies Singing Group as well as teaching our preschool, stage 1, 2 and 3 performing arts groups and solo singing students.

Heidi Crouchman & Phoebe Driver

Heidi and Phoebe are our Stage 1 Assistants who support our teachers in the younger classes.


Heidi has been a student at Diverse since our first class in October 2011 with Phoebe joining us a year later. Both attend Leventhorpe School in Sawbridgeworth.


Heidi and Phoebe are both excellent role models for our younger students with Heidi winning Student of the Year in 2012 and Phoebe also winning the award in 2015. They have performed in numerous shows with Diverse including two performances in the West End at Her Majesty's Theatre and The Adelphi taking on solo parts, as well as many Showcases, summer musicals and charity events.
